Thoughts on the Twelfth Doctor

Happy Christmas (A tad bit late), everyone! A time of happiness and cheer.... oh yes, and the Doctor regenerated.

So. What did you think of the Christmas special? Certainly not my favorite episode, by far. But still... Eleven is dead. And I'm not at all sure what my thoughts on Twelve are. So I suppose I'll try to sort them out here.

He looks like an owl.

Not exactly the most important thing about him, but I really needed to get that out of my system.

Owls aside, I like him. I don't like him. He'll make an amazing Doctor. He'll stink.

First of all, he seems like he'll be much more similar to the Classic Doctors, and a long shot from anything we've seen in New Who so far.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Most likely a good thing. I'll miss Ten and Eleven's quirky personality, but a change from that would be good.

“Eccleston was a tiger and Tennant was, well, Tigger. Smith is an uncoordinated housecat who pretends that he meant to do that after falling off a piece of furniture.” — Steven Moffat

As Steven Moffat himself said,

“Eccleston was a tiger and Tennant was, well, Tigger. Smith is an uncoordinated housecat who pretends that he meant to do that after falling off a piece of furniture.”

So who is Capaldi?

Second on the agenda. He forgot how to fly the TARDIS? Oh goodness, I hope not.

Third. I don't like Clara. Hopefully he'll find a new companion soon. Maybe Scarf Girl (Technichally, her name was Osgood, yes. But Scarf Girl sounds much better) from the 50th? I really do hope so. She seemed a much deeper character than Clara.

So. That's about it for today. Thoughts on Capaldi, anyone?

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Review

Oh. My. Goodness.

**Spoilers Ahead**

I went to see the DoS yesterday, and... gosh. I don't know what to say. First and foremost, I didn't write the review yesterday because all I would've been able to do was squeal about how amazing it was.

And I'm going to try not to do that today, but I'm not promising you anything ;)

Let's start with... the acting.

Oh my gosh. The acting was amazing.

Martin Freeman did a wonderful job as Bilbo, same as the first movie.

And Benedict Cumberbatch as Smaug?

His voice was so filtered that I could hardly recognize it, but gosh it was creepy. Almost as creepy as Sherlock when he's mad.

And then Evangeline Lilly as Tauriel.

She did an amazing job, I must say, especially considering the fact that I originally hated the idea of adding in her and Legolas. But now, I'm not so sure. I was quite pleased with her character.

Except for one teeny, tiny thing.

The Kili/Legolas love triangle.

I'm perfectly fine with Peter Jackson adding in Tauriel for some female representation. I mean, goodness, look at this chart.

Tolkein really could have a done a much better job with adding more female characters, which is one reason why I liked the addition of Tauriel.

But now that I've seen the movie, I've realized that even though she did get some really cool fight scenes, she was added more for the romance than anything else.

Why can't we just get an awesome female character without romance and love triangles in the background?

As Evangeline Lily herself said,

“Because The Hobbit was my favorite book as a little girl, and the Silvan Elves were my favorite characters in the book, it would be a dream come true to play one, I agreed very quickly. And then they said to me, ‘Your character’s not in the book.’ And I took great pause as a great fan of Tolkien. I kind of gulped and went, ‘Whaaaat? Everyone’s going to hate me.’
At that moment when [Boyens] said there was a love story, I agreed to the job under one condition. One condition. And they agreed to the condition, and it was in place for two years. The condition was: I will not be involved in a love triangle. (“It’s true,” Boyens confirms). Because any of you who are fans of Lost — I had it up to here with love triangles."
So now I'm going to stop ranting about the love triangle, because I really honestly did love the movie overall.

Most of the things they changed from the canon, I liked.

I didn't mind the fact that Bard was a peasant instead of the leader of Laketown because I feel that it enforced the entire theme of the LotR trilogy- that small people can do great things.

I liked how they began to show Bilbo's growing attachment to the Ring, something that never really happened in the book.

I honestly did love Tauriel's character, and I still think she's an awesome.

And overall, the movie was totally AMAZING.

Rating: 8.5/10

I really should be wrapping this up now, so bye, everyone!

Oh, and as a side note, all my really old posts containing nothing but pictures have been deleted. If you really want to see those pics, most of 'em are on my Pintrest page, which is linked from the sidebar.

The Notebook Sisters Linkup

Hello all! And I'm back from my vacation this weekend! Unfortunately, I don't have any Ten gifs to go with today's post, so you'll have to do without. Unless I can find a way to relate Ten to books...
For the bookworms...

1. What was your overall favourite book this year? (Yes. Pick one.)

Hmmm... Well... I must say, I really did love Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett. I really do hate picking favorite books, though *sigh* It's like picking a favorite parent or a favorite friend.

2. Which books did you reread this year?

The LotR trilogy, the Harry Potter series (As I do every year), The Wee Free Men, the Inkheart trilogy, annnnd that's all I can think of at the moment. Although there are tons more.

3. Which book(s) gave you a massive hangover?

Ummm... Do comic books count? If so, then Amazing X-Men #1. I mean, look at that artwork! And Nightcrawler is back! But if not, then I suppose Harry Potter, as it always does. I even bought myself a wand at the Dickens Fair this weekend and I'm planning on sewing myself a Slytherin cloak.

4. Best standalone you read?

Hmmm... Probably Shada, by Douglas Adams and Gareth Roberts. It's a Doctor Who novel about the fourth Doctor. Or perhaps Fortunately, The Milk by Neil Gaiman.

5. Biggest book(s) you've read this year?

Oh, gosh. Let me think. Probably Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, or maybe Inkdeath, or something else. I really don't pay attention to the number of pages, but the more, the better! Oh, or possibly Dune. I read that on my Kindle so I'm not sure how long it was.

6. Most disappointing book(s) you read this year?

The Hunger Games. After all the hype about, it, I figured it would be good. Boy was I disappointed. It seemed poorly written to me and the characters... don't get me started on the characters.

7. Favourite leading-female character?

Hmmm... Either Annabeth from the Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus (She shows that girls can be smart and hold their own in a fight) or Meggie from Inkheart (I could totally relate to her love of books)

8. Favourite leading-male character?

Hmmm... Well... *Thinks* Can I say The Doctor? He was in Shada, after all. Or Sam from LotR.

9. Best romance(s)?

Percy and Annabeth. Or Ron and Hermione. one of the two.

10. What book(s) hit the DNF list? (Did not finish.)

Pfft. Are you kidding? I always finish my books.

11. What book(s) did you read out of your comfort-zone?

Hmmm... Well, Flipped, by Wendelin Van Draanen. I was not impressed. And then there was World Without Fish. I'm normally not a fan of non-fiction, but I was very impressed with this one.

12. Which author did you read the most from?

Either Terry Pratchett or JK Rowling.

13. Top 5 books you'd recommend from all the books you've read this year?

1. Dune
2. The Harry Potter series, of course.
3. Anything by Terry Pratchett. Especially The Wee Free Men or Guards! Guards!
4. Fortunately, The Milk
5. Shada

14. How many books did you read this year all up?

I don't count. Probably around 100.

--

And I'm not going to participate in the writing half, mainly because the only book I wrote this year was my NaNo novel and it's still under revision. So, there it is! What do you think?

The Day of the Doctor Review

Well! Hello again! After virtually no new posts over the course of NaNoWriMo, I'm back again! Yay! *Throws confetti* *Crickets chirp* Anyway... The Day of the Doctor!

*Spoiler Alert*

Gosh. What can I say. It was brilliant!

Oh gosh. Look at his face. Ten has the best faces. Am I distracting you? Back on track.

Bad Wolf.

I don't know what to say about Bad Wolf.

I was quite excited about seeing Rose again, but I must say, I wasn't disappointed. Billie Piper was amazing as the Moment. The consciousness of a weapon of mass destruction? Yup. That's Doctor Who for ya.

I was quite impressed with the concept of a weapon that actually passes judgement on you for it's use.

And the punishment for destroying all of Gallifrey, including not only the Daleks but also the Time Lords?

Living to see another day.

Amazing!

Now. John Hurt. The Time War Doctor. 8.5, if you will.

I was rather suspicious about this.

I mean, adding another Doctor? This would totally mess everyone up.

Eight is still Eight, but Nine is Ten?

But Moffat pulled it off quite well.

He even managed to fill in some earlier plot holes.

Honestly, I hope Twelve spends his regeneration searching for Gallifrey. And now I'm going to have to catch up on Classic Who in the hopes that he does. After all... Gallifrey falls no more.

Rating: 9.5/10

Oh, and we mustn't forget.

The humor hidden so well that every time you watch it you find something now to laugh at.

Allons-y!

Nanowrimo

I just realized, I haven't posted on this blog in what, a month? Great. That makes one post a month. *Dramatic sigh* Oh well. I know I say this practically every post, but... I'll try to post more often from now on! Now, on to more important things. NONOWRIMO COMES IN FIFTEEN DAYS!!! I found this blogging meme on the internet, since I have absolutely no other ideas on what to write about... Enjoy.

When and how did you find out about NaNoWriMo? How did you go?

Last year, I believe. I (I think, I did, at least) was doing an internet search about something along the lines of "novel writing" because a had an idea for a story I wanted to write, and lo and behold, I found NaNoWriMo.

How many times have you done NaNoWriMo?

This is just my second time.

How many times have you won? If you haven’t won, what was your best result?

Last year, I only wrote 9,000 words. I hope to do much better this year.

How did you go last year?

I threw together the majority of my plot at the last minute (But don't we all?) but I think it went rather well, seeing as that was the first time I had even attempted to write over 1,000 words. It also helped boost my self confidence when it comes to writing.

Where do you write and with what do you write?

I prefer to type (Mainly because my handwriting is awful) but when I'm in the car or someone else is on the computer I write it in a notebook and transfer it to the computer.

How do you find time to write?

Last year, I wrote after school every day. My teacher went pretty easy on us when it came to homework, so I had the time. This year, since I'm homeschooling, it will count for my writing grade.

Are your partners, friends and family allies or enemies?

My parents are super- supportive of my writing and I'm really thankful for that. My brother seems to think it's pretty cool to have a sister who wants to write a novel.

Do you plot/outline/plan or do you write by the seat of your pants? How much do you plot or how unprepared are you?

I hardly ever outline. I generally have a basic idea about the plot, but never that detailed. I tend to write along one main plot and add in little side plots as I go.

What are your writing aids? Special snacks, music, totems, rewards or punishments?

Last year, I used Write or Die, or Written Kitten if I was in the mood for something less stressful. I also saved my Halloween candy and ate a piece each time I got to a certain point.

Board Games

Recently, board games have begun to get more and more complex. Where you used to find Candyland or Monopoly, now you'll find The Settlers of Catan, Agricola, or 7 Wonders. With a whole sleuth of new games to choose from, they aren't just for kids anymore! Here's a list of some of me and my family's favorites.

1. Android: Netrunner This two person card game puts the players in a dystopian future, ruled by huge corporations. One player, the corporation, attempts to put their plans into motion with their secret agendas, while the other player takes the place of a hacker extraordinaire called a Runner and attempts to hack the corporation's computer systems.

 2. 7 Wonders In 7 Wonders, players compete to build the most successful civilization, focusing on several ways to expand their cities. Will they become a huge cultural center? Build architectural masterpieces? Make groundbreaking scientific discoveries? Or perhaps shove their way to dominance with a powerful military?

 3. Agricola Although this game takes a while to master and even longer to play, it's tons of fun (Plus, you can recreate all the items as tiny clay animals!) Players take the places of farmers and try to rake up the most points by breeding animals, expanding their farm, and planting crops.

4. The Settlers of Catan With numerous expansion packs, The Settlers of Catan is a fast paced (Not! The average game takes about two hours) game where players build settlements, cities, and roads to settle the untouched island of Catan.

Now, for a tried and true, not so new finale,

5. Magic
In this card game (OK, OK, maybe I did say this post was going to be about board games, but hey, card games are fun too!!), players become powerful wizards and summon magical creatures like powerful gryphons, elven warriors, and deranged hermits who summon massive squirrel armies, while casting spells, in a battle for supremacy.

So, what are your favorite board games? Comment below!

Lists

I've realized that my posts on here leave much to be desired. I created this blog intending it to be a place for me to share my thoughts, but I've realized that, when I post on here, it tends to be just a collection of Doctor Who/ Sherlock/ Harry Potter pics. Therefore, I've decided to make 3 changes to this blog, starting today.
1. I'll try to post at least once a week (Note the word try. I'll be homeschooled this year, so I'll be working much harder.)
2. My posts will (almost) always have some... substance? Is that the word for it? I won't just be posting random pics anymore.
3. I'll post for a wider audience. It won't all be Doctor Who/ Sherlock/ Harry Potter themed (Although you can expect quite a few of Doctor Who/ Sherlock/ Harry Potter themed posts, still)
Now, for today's post. :) I got this from Musing From Neville's Navel, and although I hope to do some better posts later on, here it is.

THE SCORPIO RACES!!!!

This book was recommended to me numerous times, but it was just now that I finally decided to read it. Based on the description from the back cover, I figured it would be yet another semi-hunger-games failed dystopian romance-  but it isn't.
In The Scorpio Races, water horses- based on kelpies from Celtic mythology- compete in a deadly race that truly puts the rider's skill to the test. Water horses (capaill uisce) are not your regular horses.True kelpies, from Irish and Scottish mythology, are faery horses that live in lakes and sometimes the ocean. They lure people- usually children- into their home and eat them. The Scorpio Races modifies this myth slightly to fit the story- they live in the ocean off the coast of a small island and occasionally come on land searching for food.
Puck is a feisty girl- and a brave one. The first girl to ride in the races, she even enters on her island pony instead of one of the capaill uisce, all to save her home.
Sean belongs to the sea and has a fierce connection with a capall uisce named Corr. In a desperate act, he vows to win the races and earn the money to buy Corr and save the horse from its owner's vengeful son.
Together, they win the races- and create a very memorable story that's hard to forget, with a wonderful ending.

The CA Capitol Building

We went to visit our state capitol building today as a field trip and I thought it was pretty cool. Here were some of my favorite parts.

  • I found out that the CA government is based on English parliament. The carpeting in the Senate is red, to show the British "House of Lords" and the carpet in the Assembly room is red because of the "House of Commons", because the commoners had to sit on the grass.
  • The people who built the building wanted to be recognized, so they found secret ways to be recognized. One put a tile in the floor on backwards, and another one carved his wife's name (Rita) in the plaster.
  • Both the Assembly and the Senate were dominated by Democrats (Which Assembly member Connie Conway, who we met on the trip, seemed pretty ticked about.) I found it interesting that the microphones they use have stickers on them to represent their political party- Republicans are red and Democrats are blue.
  • The Senate is more traditional. They vote and do roll call by voice, while the Assembly uses technology.
  • The Senate is half the size of the assembly.
  • The Assembly members feel very strongly about wrestling.

How to Read/ Write Gallifreyan

I found out how to write in Circular Gallifreyan!
Here are some instructions from a Wiki Page about it

Circular Gallifreyan is a standardized version of the written Gallifreyan language as seen in Doctor Who. It was standardized by a fan, so it is not officially sanctioned, but it looks terribly cool. You can read a guide to Gallifreyan online or just read The Honey Badger's guide below.
Legal Note!
Doctor Who and Gallifreyan are © BBC, and this alphabet is © Loren Sherman.

Getting Started

If you're reading this guide, that's probably because you found the original guide a bit too confusing. If you haven't read the original guide, I recommend you at least give it a shot - after all, that comes direct from the source and I'm just interpreting the rules.

Letters

Consonants

Alphabet.JPG
Consonants.JPG
Consonants take one of four forms and are modified by one of five different designs. In the chart to the left, you can see the four basic forms along the left side and the five modifications along the top. The dot modifications are included within the circle of the letter while the line modifications extend outward from the circle of the letter. To get a better idea for how each letter looks, to the right is a complete set of Gallifreyan consonants.
When writing out a word in Gallifreyan, it is done based on English spelling with the exception of the letter C and a few phonetic letters (CH, SH, TH NG). Since 'C' makes either a 'K' or an 'S' sound, we use those letters as replacements Here are some examples of Gallifreyan spelling exceptions:
  • 'Cat' would be written as 'Ka T' (don't worry about that a, we'll get to vowels in a second)
  • 'Sauce' would be written as 'Sa U Se'
  • 'Thing' is written as 'THi NG', not 'T Hi N G'
  • 'Shale' is written as 'SHa Le' not 'S Ha Le'
  • 'Change' is written as 'CHa N Ge' and not 'C Ha N Ge'
Consonant designs, that is, the dots or lines that differentiate the consonants, do not rely on placement or size to distinguish. So long as the appropriate number of lines or dots are placed on that consonant, then it is correct. More on this later.

Vowels

vowels.jpg
Vowels are a bit trickier. Vowels are either attached to the preceding consonant or they float on their own - either way they are smaller circles than the consonants and have slightly different rules.
In the diagram to the left, you can see how each vowel looks both attached and unattached to a consonant. 'A' is written as a small circle just outside of the main line of the word. 'E' is a small circle either centered on the line of the word or centered within any full-circle consonant. 'I' is a small circle with a line extending towards the inside of the word, either centered on the line of the word or centered within any full-circle consonant. 'O' is a small circle that rests inside the line of the word when it stands on its own, and when attached to a consonant it rests bisected on the inside edge of the letter. 'U' is a small circle with a line extending towards the outside of the word, either centered on the line of the word or centered within any full-circle consonant.
A vowel does not have to be attached, and can stand on its own at the writer's discretion. As a general rule, however, a vowel should stand on its own if you want to elongate a short word (for example, 'T H E' might be put instead of 'T He'). In cases where a word starts with a vowel ('E Le P Ha N T' for example) or you have two vowels in a row ('Re A L' for example), a vowel will need to stand on its own because it has no consonant to attach to.

Words

Elephant.JPG
Words in Gallifreyan are based around circles. A word begins at the bottom of the circle (that is, the part of the circle closest to the bottom of the image/paper) and proceed anticlockwise around the word. An example can be seen to the right.
Notice both attached and unattached vowels in action in this word. You also have two letters, 'P' and 'Ha' which are connected by lines. Since both 'P' and 'H' have two lines, we can draw those lines connecting the two letters. This does not have to be done, so long as both letters have two lines, they are written correctly. 'N', you can see, has a single line which is extending beyond the circle of the word. So long as lines do not intersect with letters that should not have any additional lines, they can extend as far as the writer wishes.

Sentences

Sentences are essentially just words made up of words. Just like a word, they are based in a circle and you read them starting from the bottom and then proceeding around anticlockwise. Punctuation can be added along the edge of the sentence circle. Sentences are contained within two circles, the inner of which you place the punctuation around, and the outer which is simply a containing circle.

The three dots in the outer circle are an exclamation mark. This and the rest of the punctuation marks can be seen in the table below. Sadly, there does not seem to be a comma available at this time.

Greek Mythology Plays

Trojan War
Athena: The first myth we are going to present is how the Trojan War was started.
Aphrodite: The myth is about how Eris, the goddess of strife, threw an apple between three goddesses.
Hera: The apple said “To the fairest of them all”, so the goddesses started to argue over who it should go to.
(Eris throws Golden Apple on stage)
Hera: (picks up apple) What a beautiful apple! Hmmmm… To the fairest of them all… That must be me! I am the wife of the king of the gods…
Aphrodite: I’m the goddess of beauty! It’s ME!
Athena: You are both idiots. I may not be the most beautiful, but…
Aphrodite: (interrupts) You can say that again:
Athena: (glares at Aphrodite) BUT at least I am at least a bit intellectual.
Aphrodite: huh?
Athena: Let me rephrase that… a LOT intellectual.
Hera: What?
Athena: I said INTELLECTUAL. You are both so thick. Anyway, I declare a democracy. Let us pick someone to choose for us.
Hera: How about Zeus?
Aphrodite: That’s not fair! He’s your husband! He’d pick you for sure!
Hera: I’m not too sure about that…
Aphrodite: How about Ares?
Hera: That’s not fair either! He has a major crush on you!
Aphrodite: And for a good reason!
Athena: Stop bickering! You two are such hypocrites-and very biased at that. Let us choose someone impartial.
Aphrodite: Like Kronos?
Athena: What?
Aphrodite: Kronos is in pieces. Zeus chopped him into pieces with Kronos’s own sickle before throwing him into Tartarus.
Athena: No, IMPARTIAL. It means he doesn’t favor any of us.
Aphrodite: Ooooh.
Athena: (sighs)
Hera: How about Paris of Troy?
Athena: Oh, alright.
Hera: Argus, darling, go fetch Paris of Troy.
(Argus leaves, then enters with Paris of Troy and a platter of food and drink. He sets it on a table, bows, and leaves.)
Paris: hmmm… I pick… Aphrodite…no, I mean Hera… No, Athena…
Hera: I can give you power if you choose me.
Athena: I can give you wisdom if you choose me.
Aphrodite: I can give you the love of the most beautiful woman in the world.
Paris: Then I choose Aphrodite.
Hera: So Paris fell in love with Helen of Sparta.
Aphrodite: He stole her off to his homeland of Troy.
Athena: This started a giant war.
Aphrodite: It wasn’t my fault!
Athena: Was too!
(they continue to argue as Hera drags them offstage)

Medusa
Athena: The next myth is about the foolish, arrogant girl Medusa and how she was defeated by the hero Perseus.
Hermes: Medusa was very vain, always admiring her reflection and bragging about her beauty.
Athena: One day, when she came to my temple, she started bragging about how beautiful she was. I decided to teach her a lesson so I turned her into a horrible monster.
Hermes: Geez, anger management issues, Athena.
Athena: (glares at Hermes) Let me finish my story, arrogant boy. Anyway, I did the same to her sisters and sent them to live on a faraway island.
Hermes: Lights, Camera, Action!
Perseus: (asleep) Hi, Hermes. Am I dreaming?
Athena: No, you died because a giant chicken stepped on you.
Perseus: Really?
Athena: No, you fool! Of course you’re asleep!
Perseus: Oh. (looking downcast) But I wanted to meet Cerberus and Hades!
Hermes: (rolls eyes) Ok, well, to make it short, you need to go kill Medusa.
Perseus: Yay! I get to go kill more monsters! Thanks, Hermes!
Athena: There’s a problem. If you look in her eyes, you turn into stone.
Perseus: So I have to kill her without looking at her? Sounds like fun!
Hermes: You’ll need my winged shoes to fly to the island.
Athena: Here’s a polished shield. Keep it shiny so that you can look at Medusa’s reflection while you fight.
Perseus: Thanks so much, guys! I’ll go kill her now. See you soon! (picks up cardboard boat and goes to Medusa)
Perseus: Hi Medusa! Hermes and Athena say I need to kill you now.
Medusa: Already? I haven’t done any harm!
Perseus: (looks at statues)
Medusa: Well, not much…
Perseus: Sorry, but do you mind if I say that you’re ugly?
Medusa: Yes. (looking angry) I do mind.
Perseus: Well, it doesn’t matter now.
Medusa: Yes it does.
Perseus: No it doesn’t, because I have to kill you now.
(chases Medusa offstage, comes back on with medusa head) I did it!

Commercial
Gorgon: Do you ever suffer from scaly, slithery snakes? (holds up shampoo bottle) Then you need Apollo’s Snake Away! Take it from me, all your snakes will disappear!
Athena: (snorts)
Gorgon: (glares at Athena) Just spread it on top of your head, put a hat on, wait till all the snakes die, and Presto! All you need to do is wait for your hair to grow back- the baldness will only remain for about a year! Side effects include vomiting, fainting, loss of hair, and pretty much anything else you can think of.

The Minotaur
Theseus: Every year, the king of Crete orders us Athenians to send seven young men and seven young women to go be eaten by the minotaur. As you can see, this is very draining on our population, so I offered to go as one of the sacrifices and be eaten by the minotaur.
Ariadne: I still think it was a stupid idea.
King Colchis: Hurry up, let’s get this show on the road!
Theseus: Dad, I’m gonna go kill the Minotaur.
King Colchis: Good idea, son. Go for it!
Theseus: Thanks, dad. I’ll sail away on a ship with black sails. If I live, I’ll change the sails to white when I come back. If I die, I won’t change them because I would be dead.
King Colchis: Good idea, son. You make me proud!
(Theseus, Woman, and Man get in the boat)
Woman : I don’t wanna die!
Theseus: I’ll avenge your death by killing the minotaur.
Man: (glares at Theseus) Hey! You won’t have to avenge her death because I’LL save her!
Theseus: Yeah right… it’s obvious that I’ll be the only survivor.
Woman : (sarcastically) Thanks, that’s so reassuring. (rolls eyes)
King Minos: Welcome to my island!
Ariadne: (looks at Theseus) Do we have to kill him, dad? He’s so handsome!
King Minos: My little darling’s growing up! No. We have to kill him.
Theseus: (walks up to Ariadne) Hey, you want to sit next to me at dinner?
Ariadne: Sure! (walks offstage with Theseus, comes back on and puts up cardboard labyrinth)
King Minos: Ariadne, you can send the sacrifices into the maze.
Ariadne: Thanks dad!
Ariadne: (to extras) You go ahead. (extras  nod and go into the maze) Theseus… I don’t want you to die… put this ball of yarn on the ground and it will lead you to the center of the maze. But you have to promise to take me back to Athens with you.
Theseus: Whatever you want, my love.
Woman: HELP! HELP! AAAAGH!
Man: RAAAAAGH! DIE MINOTAUR DIE!!!!!! AAAAAAAGH! HELP ME!!!!
Minotaur: GRUNT GRUNT RRRRAGHHH I KILL YOU GRRRRAAAARRRRR DIE SILLY HUMAN DIE GRAAAGH (throw red painted fabric over the wall)
Woman 1: Mercy! Have Mercy! AAAAAAAaaaaaagggggh
Theseus: (looks into maze) eeew. Don’t look, Ari.
Ariadne: ok,Thesee.
Theseus: (goes into the maze)
Ariadne: (gasps) Theseus? You ok?
Theseus: I’m fine… just fine….. AAAAAAAGHHH!
Ariadne: Theseus!
Theseus: Just kidding.
Ariadne: That was mean!
Theseus: No, it was funny.
Ariadne: (rolls eyes) Whatever. Just get going.
Theseus: (falls) AAAAAAGH!
Ariadne: Cut it out Theseus. (waits) Theseus? THESEUS?! (Charges into the maze)
Minotaur: AAAAAAAAUUUGHHHHH!
( Ariadne and Theseus walk out. Ariadne holds a Minotaur head.)
Theseus: Alls well that ends well…
(all sail back home in boat)
King: AAAAA! THESEUS!
Theseus: oooops…. (glances up at sails) Well, I guess I’m king now!
Ariadne: (rolls eyes) your dad just died.
Theseus: Oh. Well… I’m still king!
(all bow)

DELICIOUS Chocolate Cake Recipe

You have to try this! It's a British recipe, and gluten free, so it's more like a really rich brownie, but still! SO GOOD.

Decadent Gluten-Free Chocolate Cake
7oz butter
7oz dark chocolate
6oz caster sugar (Baking sugar here in the US)
4 eggs
2 tbsp ground almonds (Or almond meal or almond flour)

1. Preheat the oven to 180ᵒ C/fan 160ᵒ C/gas mark 4. Line a 8” round cake tin with nonstick baking paper.
2. Melt the butter with the chocolate in a bowl set over a pan of simmering water, making sure that the bottom of the pan doesn’t touch the water. Add the sugar and stir occasionally with a wooden spoon until the sugar has dissolved. Let the mixture cool a little before adding the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition. Add the ground almonds and mix again until smooth.
3. Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the center is set but still a little wobbly. Turn the oven off but leave the cake inside for another 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and place the tin on a wire rack to cool completely.
4. Remove the cake from the tin, then wrap it in clingfilm and store it in the refrigerator. Take it out about 1 hour before serving. Remove from the clingfilm and serve in generous slices.

Awesome Minecraft Trick!

In only fifteen minutes, I found:
One enchanted flame resistance book, 11 lapis lazuli, iron boots, 3 apples, 17 redstone, 26 bones, 28 rotten flesh, 28 pumpkin seeds, 38 melon seeds, 8 minecart rails, an iron pickaxe,27 gold, 48 iron, 51 bread, 39 coal, and 5 DIAMONDS!!!!!
This is one of the fastest ways to find tons of loot. Plus, it's also a super fast way to find strongholds! I found this one in only five minutes!

The trick? (it only works on PC edition)Create a new world. Make it superflat, and use the desert preset. Then, delete the sandstone and stone layers. The sand will all fall, leaving strongholds and mineshafts exposed.
